Natural Pools in Castellón

The province of Castellón borders the provinces of Tarragona, Teruel and Valencia. The Mediterranean Sea hugs it from the east. Most of the population lives on the coast (Costa del Azahar) which receives the majority of tourists. Yet, its mountainous interior is spectacular and practically uninhabited. Here, temperatures are usually a bit colder, with more precipitation and sometimes snow during winter. The highest peak in the province is Penyagolosa (1813 m). The two most important rivers in Castellón are the Mijares and the Palancia.

In these rivers, reservoirs and lagoons there are many spectacular spots and natural pools for admiring or wild swimming, but you have to know where they are.
